Day 1 - arriving in Edale

Not much to report apart from having sat in a train for 6 hours all the way from Truro to Sheffield (add another 6 hours for Glasgow), then onto the local "Hope Valley" line to Manchester via Edale. Hope is one of the towns along the line, so it's not as whimsical as it sounds.

The unmanned Edale station nestles down in the valley with sheep festooning the hills on both sides.

There's still a few spots of snow on the hills, which is late in the year, but it's just the remains of the quick flurry/blizzard (depending on how you look at it) that came down from Scotland a week ago, so probably not indicative of what's to come.
